ATLAS ELEKTRONIK UK are offering exciting opportunities for motivated and enthusiastic apprentices to join our successful and growing company in Winfrith, Dorset. We are a technological leader in many sectors and have an excellent reputation, particularly as a supplier of Sonar Systems. In terms of sonar technology, mine-hunting, naval weapons or combat systems, we have what are in part unique capabilities.

ATLAS ELEKTRONIK UK is looking to employ apprentices in a number of areas who are keen to progress in their chosen careers and who have a real passion and desire to understand our business domain.

The Scheme

The Scheme

The scheme supports our apprentices by providing suitable learning opportunities, training (both by the core apprenticeship provider and external training) and experience in the apprentice's desired discipline as well as further experience and a good grounding within all areas of the business via cross department/team rotations and external training wherever possible/required. A full company induction programme will be given to the apprentices covering all of the usual topics with additional features such as a team building session and an Apprenticeship Scheme Induction session.

As well as their team leaders, the apprentices will be assigned a buddy that is suitably experienced and qualified who can provide advice and support on both professional and non-professional issues. The Learning and Development Officer of ATLAS ELEKTRONIK UK will provide additional support to the apprentices again in a development capacity but also as a HR contact for any issues or advice they may experience/require during their time with the company as an apprentice.

The apprenticeship scheme lasts 2 years and is closely monitored via the use of log books, quarterly reviews, team leader reviews and apprentice reviews where the apprentice feedback on the scheme and possible improvements is welcomed.

The scheme covers all apprentices who join the company in any discipline. The core areas of the scheme are as follows:

  • Full Induction to Company and Apprenticeship Scheme

  • Buddies

  • On the Job Training

  • Off the Job Training

  • Quarterly Reviews and Log Books

  • Cross Department/Team Rotations

  • External Training 

  • Apprentice Reviews 

  • Annual Apprentice Award

As highlighted previously, there is flexibility in the scheme and final details e.g. duration, salary and level of apprenticeship, will be finalised with the successful candidates.
