With its ATLAS Modular ASW Combat System (AMACS), ATLAS ELEKTRONIK offers outstanding competence in underwater warfare covering all functional chains, ranging from sensors to effectors. AMACS provides excellent performance and capabilities in underwater warfare and is the state-of-the-art system for anti-submarine warfare (ASW) operations and ship self-defence against underwater threats. It can be fully integrated into any combat management system, but is also available as a stand-alone solution which can be fitted on a broad range of surface ships. AMACS provides naval ships with protective measures under various tactical scenarios. Adapted for both shallow and blue-water operations, it can be fitted on board surface ships which may be subject to a torpedo threat.
AMACS is a modular-designed system and consists of separate components or subsystems forming a complete ASW solution. It can be adapted to the customer’s needs, providing different sonar systems, integration levels and effector solutions.
An AMACS installation consists of the following subsystems:
A sonar suite consisting of one or more sonar systems, e.g. a hull-mounted sonar (ASO713/723), variable depth sonars (ACTAS), diver detection sonar (CERBERUS) and sonobuoy processing (SONIX) optimised for the detection, localisation and classification of underwater threats.
Command and control system (C2)
Providing tactical management and integration of all sensors and effectors. Recommending countermeasures and evasive manoeuvres. Allowing automatic and manual deployment of underwater weapons, such as torpedoes, decoys and anti-torpedo torpedoes.
Lightweight torpedoes, expendable jammer / confuser decoy for optimised torpedo soft-kill and torpedo hard-kill, such as the ATLAS anti-torpedo torpedo SeaSpider.
